Understanding fees and payments

Medical expenses can be overwhelming. At NY Sports & Joints Orthopaedic Specialists, we aim to make this process as smooth as possible for you. All services must be paid for at the time they are rendered unless prior arrangements have been made. If your insurance company is one that we participate with, we will bill them directly for your visit. Our team is also ready to assist you with any insurance claim-related queries.

Options for payment

We accept cash, credit cards, or checks for co-payments to offer you a variety of convenient payment options.

Managing prescriptions and renewals

For continuity of care, all prescriptions and authorizations should be requested during regular office hours. Please note that renewals requested outside of these hours will only be filled under extreme or emergent circumstances.

Completing patient registration forms

Before your appointment, you will fill out a Patient Registration form. These forms, available in both English and Spanish, help us understand your medical history and provide you with the most appropriate care.

Also, alcohol and smoking should be avoided at least 24 hours prior to your procedure. If you develop a cold, fever, or chest congestion before surgery, please contact us immediately for rescheduling.

Post-operative needs and expectations

Recovery is an integral part of any surgical procedure. After your surgery, we recommend applying R.I.C.E. therapy (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) and limiting activity for a speedy recovery. Please do not remove the dressing from the incision site and take the prescribed pain medications as directed by your provider.
